SNAPBCI

Brain-Computer-Interface

SNAP's long-term goal is to establish a robust and intuitive brain-computer interface system. The research work is being carried out by our SNAP DISCOVERY AG.

What is a BCI?

The BCI is a human-machine interface. Nerve cells generate electrical impulses to pass on information. In electroencephalography (EEG), several electrodes are attached to the scalp to measure the brain's activities using a variety of sensors. Changes in brain activity can be detected with an EEG. The data obtained in this way can be used to control electronics.

Embedded systems
Our devices are not only intelligent in the cloud.

VR/AR

Interface for VR, AR, games and toys.

Database

Over 400,000 EEG measurements.

Non-invasive

We use dry and gel electrodes.

AI

Our AI framework works in the background and is constantly being improved.

Ecosystem

Development of hardware (EGG headset), software and AI framework with high security standards.

What can we currently do - Pong control

Mind Control for Movement - Seamless control of a computer cursor through the power of thought

Can thoughts move games? The power of our BCI system.

Imagine controlling a game with just your mind. Our BCI system makes this possible.

Only 8 measuring points and a wireless connection enable lightning-fast data collection and analysis for self-developed games such as Pong. Through Motion Imagery  we can control - consequently: convert a movement idea into action. An exciting intersection of technology and imagination that lets us redefine what is possible.

Team

Our employees have expertise in data science, cognitive science, electrical engineering, computer science, sensor technology, HR and sales.

Hardware procurement

For the physical equipment, we currently rely on purchasing proven hardware components. At the same time, we are currently developing our own headset.

8 channels

Electrodes

We use an advanced electrode configuration to capture precise brain signals.

Versatile electrodes

We use both gel electrodes and dry electrodes.

Software focus

Our main focus is developing powerful software solutions that interpret and adapt brain signals

Goal: Technical system control

Our research strives to achieve the ability to control technical systems using thought alone.

Our AI platform has already been successfully developed. We are currently working on the planning and implementation of strategic partnerships. Our visionary direction aims to revolutionize the gaming market by controlling it through thought alone. However, the market for brain-computer interfaces (BCI) is extremely diverse and offers a wide range of application areas:

Gaming

Gaming industry

The highly complex technology of brain-computer interfaces allows technical assistance systems to be controlled via thoughts. This means we build software based on artificial intelligence that evaluates brain activity in real time in order to control technical systems. We have been researching and developing BCI systems with a focus on for 13 yearsartificial intelligence to interpret brain data. We have also built our own amplifiers to record non-invasive EEG signals to enable a flawless data pipeline for pattern recognition. For example, BCI can already be used to control games, detect attention or detect errors in image sequences. We see the future of brain computer interface technology closely intertwined with the future of VR technology. Controlling your avatar, moving it, formulating texts or communicating with other people using your thoughts is the future for optimal immersion.

Industry, markting and enduser

Among other things, the support of a BCI system can be used to determine the attention/concentration of employees. In many situations, production employees have to concentrate on a specific process. As soon as concentration drops, the potential for danger and errors increases. Using a brain-computer interface, brain activity can be recorded and the user's concentration level can be determined. As soon as the concentration falls below a limit, a warning signal can be issued. The BCI system can, for example, provide early warning of reduced user attention and thus potential errors can be prevented.

Healthcare market

As humans, we are exposed to a continuous stream of stimuli from the environment. However, a large part of the perceived signals are filtered out, so that only a portion of all information reaches consciousness. Both the perception process and the reaction to changes in the environment take a certain amount of time. Using BCI, brain activities can be measured, evaluated efficiently and used as control signals. Reaction times can be shortened and perceived information can be used that does not reach the user's consciousness.

Brain-computer interfaces can be used, for example, when interacting with (partially) autonomous systems. If they make errors that are noticed by the user, a corresponding signal can be sent to the machine before the user becomes aware of the error.
