What does this privacy policy refer to?

 

This privacy policy applies to the app "Vafes Online", which is made available through the MetaQuest store, with the purpose of collecting anonymized motion data for the purpose of scientific research and development.

What data is processed?

Within the scope of this study, no personal data within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant data protection regulations in the area of the European Union will be processed!
Only the following data will be collected, stored and evaluated: Gender, age range, handedness and level of physical activity (self-assessment by the test participant).

 

How are these data processed/used?

These data will be processed anonymously. A traceability of your data via the user account in the app platform is not possible and also not the aim of the study. Furthermore, non-personal data, reaction times and movement patterns from the experiment in the virtual environment are also stored and evaluated anonymously. Your data will be used for the purpose of the study "VAFES #1: Analysis of arm-hand function in virtual space on persons healthy".


Consent and revocation of participation as well as the influence on data processing!

The use of the data is in accordance with legal regulations and requires your voluntarily given declaration of consent before participating in the study, i.e. without consent you cannot participate in the study!


The consent to the collection and processing of data by you is revocable, from the time of termination of participation.


You will be informed prior to participation that you can terminate your participation in the study at any time. In the event of such revocation of consent to participate in the study, you agree that the data stored up to that point may continue to be used to the extent necessary in order to
 

1. obtain valid results for the study,

 

2. ensure that your interests worthy of protection are not impaired

 

3. since the data is completely anonymized and therefore cannot be attributed to you as a natural person, you, as an individual study participant, have no claim to deletion.

 

4. you agree that your anonymized data will be stored for at least ten years or permanently after termination or discontinuation of the study.

 

5. your participation in the study can be terminated at any time, but with regard to anonymized data, no claim for deletion can be made due to non-availability of attribution possibilities.

Will this data be passed on to third parties?


Unless otherwise provided by law, only the study director and his/her staff as well as participating project partners have access to the recorded and stored data. The data is not passed on to third parties in the legal sense.

 

Data security

Commercially reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures are taken to ensure an adequate level of security. Particular emphasis is placed on the non-identifiability of your person in order to prevent risks to your rights and freedoms. Furthermore, precautions are taken to protect against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss or alteration, and against unauthorized disclosure of or access to the data collected in the course of this study.

However, it is explicitly stated that the transmission of data via the Internet can never be completely secure and that, despite our best efforts, a residual risk cannot be excluded.

5.         Your participation in the study can be terminated at any time, but no right to deletion can be asserted regarding anonymized data due to the lack of allocation options.
